Agnes of Sorrento

Imagine the most dramatic romance you know. Now forget that one, because after reading this book, you will permanently be thinking of this one instead! The story about the young and beautiful Agnes, daughter of a Roman prince.

The tale takes place in Italy, at the infamous court of Pope Alexander VI. In secrecy, Agnes’ father marries a young girl less fortunate than him, but suddenly leaves her again. When her mother dies of misery Agnes faces more trouble than she had never dreamt of.

Her grandmother takes her to the stunning coastal town of Sorrento, where Agnes finds that her beauty and humble lifestyle attracts many suitors. But like in real life not all of high quality.. This catapults her life into a series of dramatic and suspenseful adventures.

For fans of The Brontë sisters, Nicolas Sparks and Julia Quinn.

The daughter of a Calvinist preacher, Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811-1896) was an American author and ardent abolitionist, whose most famous novel "Uncle Tom’s Cabin" became the fiercest attack on slavery at the time. Stowe’s influence reached much farther than literature, and marked politics and society, opening the world’s eyes to the horrors of slavery. Stowe also wrote travel memoirs, numerous articles, letters, and short stories.
