"Nyfiken på Sverige" är ett försök att förmedla viktiga kunskaper om det svenska samhällets olika delar. Här finns grundläggande information om landet, befolkningen, arbetsmarknaden, boendet, vården och hälsan m.m. En stor del handlar om landets uppbyggnad med betoning på demokratin, mänskliga rättigheter, våra grundläggande värderingar om allas lika värde och vikten av att leva i jämställda relationer. Det är inga lätta frågor att ta till sig, men med det folkbildande samtalet i centrum kan många ledtrådar till förståelse av värdegrunden skapas.

Studiematerialet har svensk och  arabisk text parallellt och den vetgirige kan lära sig många viktiga begrepp och sammanhang i en cirkel eller genom självstudier.

En välkomnande stil och en lättillgänglig utformning har varit en ledstjärna i arbetet på studiematerialet. Vi hoppas ”Nyfiken på Sverige” ska underlätta för nyanlända och andra som är ”nyfikna” på vårt land att känna sig välorienterade. Skriften är författad av folkbildaren Björn Ericson med åtskilliga studiematerial och fackböcker bakom sig.

CURIOUS ABOUT SWEDEN

 “Curious about Sweden” is an attempt to mediate important facts about the different aspects of Swedish society. Here you will find basic information about the country, the population, the job market, housing, health care among other things. A big section deals with the constitution of the country with emphasis on democracy, human rights, our fundamental values about the equal value of all and the importance of living in coequal relationships. These are not the easiest questions to handle, but with the conversation of people knowledge as focus, many clues for understanding some of the basic values will arise.

The material comes with parallel Swedish and English texts and the curious person may learn important concepts and contexts in a study circle or on his or her own.

A welcoming style and an accessible form has been the goal for the text. We hope that “Curious about Sweden” will make it easier for new arrivals and other people “curious” about Sweden to feel well oriented. This publication is written by Björn Ericson, author to many study materials and text books.
